Breaker Roll:
The breaker roll is an important part of the glass cullet handling system. The breaker roll's purpose is to crush the glass before making a 90 degree transition or before entering an incline section of conveyor. The glass cullet needs to be in crushed in order to be easiely conveyed.
The glass cullet system is more effective than manual glass disposal using glass cullet hoppers or glass cullet trays. The crusher roll greatly increases dumpster or hopper capacities due to the size of the cullet. The smaller cullet increases production (less dumping of hoppers, less shutting down of cutting lines) and safety (small cullet is less dangerous than larger trim).
